Food for Thought

The media continuously place images of the "perfect frame" men and women should try and keep up. Such and weight is average for such and height. Hair should be straight, not curly. Blah blah blah. With these constant rant and raves, it is hard to keep the body of your own without feeling self conscious. If that's your problem, "sucks to be you" says the media. And it really does suck. Lmao. I am 5'4 about 120 pounds. This is exactly average weight according to a Weight Watchers support network. So why is it so hard for me to be content with my average build? I know why...I never used to be "average." I was always between 125 pounds and 130 pounds until 2009. They ain't never lie when they said it is easier to lose weight than to gain it. I stuff my face as much as possible and nothing seems to work. Smh. It has gotten to the point where food is beginning to disgust me. Meat especially. The smell, the taste and the look. I'm not sure what the deal is but I don't like it one bit. Lol. I want my old body and my old appetite back! Sheesh. So as I begin this journey to complete Operation 135 I hope by the end I still like food. LOL. Food for thought. xo

Dear "Barbies"

Everytime a rapper or singer coins a term (eg. Barbie, Lewinsky, Minaj, 5 star, etc.) the public takes hold of it and runs with it as if it is gold. Problem is, it is not gold. Not only is it not gold, it is NOT real. To change your identity to emulate or imitate another person shows the world how much of a follower you are. Artists coin these terms for these exact reasons. They create these personas that seem tangible for the public to acquire when actually you can't attain them at all. They are only that, PERSONAS. Do you really think Onika Maraj (ha bet you barbies can't tell me who that is) really thinks she is a barbie? No. It is just an image. An image probably created by her team to help her sell more records. I've been listening to Nicki since I was a senior in highschool (2007) when she first released Playtime is Over and appeared on Lil' Wayne's Empire 3 track "Can't Stop, Won't Stop." Nicki has grown lyrically and her team has developed her into a female artist that has never entered the world of hip hop before. Think about it, when have you ever seen a more girly rapper? Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown, Queen Latifah, etc. have NEVER been the type to take on the attributes of a "girly girl." Kim and Fox, both from Brooklyn, were HARDCORE female rappers who mouthed dirty lyrics and wore risque uniforms and Queen...well lets just say she was always one of the guys, until recently. LOL. At first it was cute when ONE or maybe even a FEW females starting dubbing the character that Nicki portrays, but now the shit is OUT OF HAND. Everywhere I turn I see a Barbie! Are you so fake that you can't help let the world know? Do you not have enough self-esteem that you must become a mirage of Maraj? Ladies you should NEVER let the media persuade or dissuade you to be who you are not or who you are. IT IS YOUR LIFE! YOUR IMAGE! Grasp hold of the handle bars and ride it out! In the end you will be much more content with YOURSELF as opposed to being content as another person. God said "Thou shall have no other gods before me." Now I am not big on religion but I personally would never idolize anyone who has never made a contribution to humanity to date. Don't get me wrong I LOVEEEEEEEE Nicki Minaj, more than you guys would ever know. LOL. I know all of her lyrics from PIO to SF to BMUS to WAYM to her freestyles, never released, undergrounds and features. Her skills are there and there is no doubt about it. I just don't feel the need to change who I am to showcase how much of a fan I am. And if that is what Nicki Minaj expects from her loyal listeners...she is sadly mislead and I won't be one to join in on that trending topic. So with that said, think before you change. Change to become a better you, not to become another someone.

Today is a sad day in the world of alternate reality. Barbie, Ken, Harajuku, 5 star, Lewinsky and Minaj "identities" are dying worldwide. RIP 2009-2010. Be yourself this year ladies and gentlemen. It is much easier! xo

Allow me to first introduce myself...

My name is Tima, and no sorry to inform you but it is not my FULL name. I was born in Brooklyn but quickly moved out the dump 8 months after my birth. Raised in Harlem and proud of my 'hood'. Why? Because 80% of us living here is doing something to maintain our lives and responsibilities. Whether it is a side hustle, a job on the books, entertaining through the field of the arts or just going to school maintaining good grades, we all have goals and strive to achieve them. So what do I do? I am a student who aspires to be the next female Johnnie Cochran. I want to defend the hardest trials and take on the most difficult cases and WIN each and everyone of them. I WILL WIN each and everyone of them. Yet my ultimate dream is to become a Supreme Court Judge. If I had to dictate my life as a fairytale, there would be no Prince Charming to rescue me from harm. My ultimate fairytale life consists of achievements in the highest honors as a lawyer and or judge. So why did I decide to start a blog? And why now? Well this blog is WAY overdue. I had been so focused on my studies and my real life, that I didn't have time to create one for this alternate reality called the World Wide Web. Yet now I am on deck. So to you passengers.... "ALL ABOAD" the S.S. Tima! Enjoy. xo
